This is a 4.5 mile course from Swantown Boatworks to the City of Olympia’s Priest Point Park and back to the pocket park in front of the LOTT Building. It follows a gravel path around the southeast end of Budd Inlet to East Bay Drive. Runners then go north along the sidewalk to Priest Point Park and follow a similar course back to the port area and the final transition in front of LOTT’s WET Science Center on Olympia Avenue NE.

The Team Captain must pick up the team’s race packet prior to the race. Please refer to the procedures at the front of the Race Guide for pickup times and location. The packet includes team racing bibs & t-shirts. The designated team representative must distribute items to team members. There will be no racing bibs at the transition areas.
Appropriate attire for a race on pavement is required. iPods, MP3s, Walkmans or similar music/audio systems are not allowed to be used by the racers while competing.
Note on water: Bring your own bottle. Water will be available at transition stations, but there will be no water stations along the route.
The runner is responsible for the paddler’s finish time. Please be in the transition area and in position when your teammate is approaching. After receiving the tag, run the event and meet up with your team at the last transition in front of LOTT’s WET Science Center. The runner will follow a well-defined route along East Bay Drive. Volunteers will be in place during the race to assist.
There are two options. (1) It is recommended that you park your car at the large gravel parking lot next to the boatyard at Swantown Boatworks and walk to transition points for both the run (Swantown Boatworks) and team trek (pocket park in front of LOTT’s WET Science Center). The Port of Olympia has invited us to use this lot for parking. (2) Parking at the Port Plaza will be difficult to find with Brew Fest coinciding with our relay. You are welcome to park in designated parking areas (NOT ANTHONY’s), so you don’t have to go back and get your car after the finish. After 3pm, you may park in the Olympia Farmer’s Market parking lot.
It is important for all racers to show their bib numbers when crossing the transition areas. Timing of individual legs may vary based upon transition area layout. Therefore, personal time kept by racers may not correspond with official results.
Volunteering for the Run Leg
